In Search of Solitude
I’m a photographer based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, where the landscapes quiet beauty inspires my work. While nature is the foundation of much of what I capture, my approach is shaped by my love for cinema. I draw on film techniques; framing, light, and shadow, to evoke emotion and tell deeper stories through my images. The Dales provide the perfect stage to bring these cinematic influences to life, whether it’s the solitude of a foggy moor or the fleeting grace of wildlife.
My work explores themes of mortality, introspection, and the passage of time. Each photograph is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with the world in a meaningful way. Through my lens, I aim to capture not just a moment, but the emotions and stories hidden within it, creating an experience that resonates long after the image is seen.
As Roger Deakins once said, “What do you want the audience to feel?” This is the ultimate question that guides every frame I capture.
